Questions Unit 4
Practice Questions:
1) Is a vegetarian diet healthier than a meat-based diet?
If I had to try and figure out which one is healthier, I would go to the library. I would also Google it, also look and see what people have said about their experiences with each.
2) Target often forces musicians to alter lyrics in order to have
their CDs sold in Target stores. Is this censorship?
I would look online, and also try to find the information through Target...see what the requirements are as if I am the artist trying to sell my CD's at Target locations.
3) How much more can a college graduate expect to earn over
someone with a high school diploma?
Research it in all different ways. There are STATS online that can show you the difference between both. I would also look up the amount of jobs that require College Degrees vs. the jobs that it is not required. Which also changes the percentages of jobs available for someone with a high school diploma.
4) Should educators use commercial services to combat
plagiarism?
I would research in books. Go to the library and look up plagiarism, all the factors and rules.
5) Is the current lack of sunspot activity affecting global
warming?
I would Google and research online, Wikipedia would be really helpful
I think that Wikipedia would be helpful for finding information for each of these topis honestly. My personal opinion.
My Questions:
1) It is known that prisoners that have a felony offense are not able to vote. Do you think that it is right that ANY prisoners should have the right to vote while they are doing their time for committing a crime?
I would research using Wikipedia to get a better understanding of the laws for prisoners. I would also look up the reasons why prisoners with felony offences are not able to vote vs. ones that are just locked up for time for other offences.
2) Prisoners are not given the right of privacy. Phone calls are monitored, mail is opened before it gets to the receiver, and you are being watched 24/7. Do you believe that prisoners should have more rights then they do now in America?
I would reseach rights for prisons on Google, try to get a better understanding of rights and privacy.
3) I feel as an American that we have great power over what we are able to, and have a great amount of privacy. Do you feel that some American take advantage of the privacy we are granted in this country? Why?
I would look up the different situations around America and differnet stats on what people usually do online. Like different polls to see what is the most used site, and other sites that are used a lot. For instance Google is a highly used site on the internet for many different reasons.
